Updated 16 October 2026: Usually only as a test. HomeAdvisor now runs on Angi's lead system: third-party 2026 reports put Angi plumbing leads at $40–$85 plus about $300 a year, often shared with 3–8 pros and on 12-month terms. SearchLight puts 2026 plumbing Local Services Ads at $57 a lead, usually not shared.

Summary: HomeAdvisor and Angi aren't competitors any more. HomeAdvisor, Inc. does business as Angi Leads and HomeAdvisor powered by Angi, so a plumber choosing between them is really choosing whether to buy Angi's shared leads at all. The fair comparison is Angi Leads against Google Local Services Ads and Search ads in your own account, measured on cost per booked job.

What the FTC found

The FTC charged HomeAdvisor in March 2022 with misrepresenting the quality and source of its leads, and with claiming its leads turn into jobs at rates it couldn't substantiate. Its complaint also describes an annual membership fee on top of per-lead fees. The final order in April 2023 required up to $7.2 million in redress.
