Local Services Ads Call Scripts and Text Templates (Copy and Paste)

Summary: A Local Services Ads call script should take the caller's name, address and callback number first, then find out the problem, offer a time and a price range, book the job and confirm it by text. You pay for these leads, so reply fast to anything you miss: the free guide says within 60 seconds. Below are copy-and-paste scripts for calls, missed calls, messages, booking requests, quote follow-ups and review requests, with [brackets] for your own details.
With Local Services Ads you pay for leads, not clicks, so what you say next decides whether that spend becomes a job. These scripts work for any trade: [Name] is the customer and [Your name] is whoever replies.
Why the first minute matters
The free guide, How a local service business can spend $1,000 and make $60,000 in a month, tells owners to reply within 60 seconds. Its $60,000 is worked math, not a promise, but the 60-second habit costs nothing to copy.
- Responsiveness affects ranking. Google weighs how responsive you are, and missed calls may count against you. For message leads, your average response time may be shown in your ad. See how Google ranks Local Services Ads.
- Missed calls can cost money. From October 1, 2026, a missed call during business hours is charged as a lead if the caller stays on the line for more than 20 seconds, with some exceptions. See what changes on October 1.
- A written reply is a fast reply. Decide who sends it on each shift, as the lead response rule explains.
The call-answering script
Take the caller's details before the story, so a bad signal doesn't cost you the job.
- Greet. "Hi, you've reached [Company], [Your name] here. How can I help?"
- Get name, address and number. "In case we get cut off, can I grab your name, the address for the job and the best number for you?"
- Find out the problem. "Can you walk me through it? When did it start, and is it getting worse?" If it sounds urgent, add: "Is anything unsafe right now?"
- Give a time. "The soonest we can get someone to you is [day] between [time] and [time]."
- Give a price range. "Most [job type] jobs we do land between [$low] and [$high]. You'll get an exact price before any work starts."
- Book the visit. "Can I put you down for [day] at [time], or is [other day] better?"
- Confirm by text. "I'll text you the details now, so you have my number."
Text after the call: "Hi [Name], it's [Your name] from [Company]. You're booked for [day] between [time] and [time] at [address] for [problem]. [Tech name] will text when they're on the way. If anything changes, just reply here."
Not ready to book? Agree when you'll follow up before you hang up.
Missed-call text templates
Send one as soon as you see the missed call, then call back. Google counts a missed call you return as a valid lead, so treat it like any paid lead.
Missed call, urgent problem: "Hi, this is [Your name] at [Company]. I couldn't get to the phone and will try you again in [5] minutes. If it can't wait, text me what's happened and your address, and I'll get someone moving."
Missed call, planned project: "Hi, [Your name] from [Company] here. I was on a job when you called. What's the project, and when would you like it done? I can call you [today at time], or reply with a better time."
Missed call, after hours: "Thanks for calling [Company]. We're closed right now and open again at [time] on [day]. Reply with your name, address and what you need, and [Your name] will call you first thing. If it's an emergency, call [emergency number]."
Drop the last line if you don't take emergencies. Google doesn't credit a valid lead just because it came in outside your business hours, so reply as soon as you open.
Replying to message leads
Someone who messages may not be free to talk, so reply in writing and answer their question first. If they asked about price, give a range before asking for anything.
Reply to a message lead: "Hi [Name], [Your name] at [Company] here. Thanks for your message about [their request], we can help. Send me [a photo / the detail you need] and I'll give you a price range. We have [day] at [time] or [day] at [time] open, or call me at [number]."
Confirming booking requests
Booking requests are charged as leads, and Google won't credit a booking the customer cancels. Confirm each one quickly and make rescheduling easier than canceling. More on Local Services Ads bookings in 2026.
Booking request confirmation: "Hi [Name], this is [Your name] from [Company]. Your booking for [service] on [day] at [time] is confirmed. So we come prepared, could you tell me [one detail]? If you need to change the time, reply here."
Booking request, slot not available: "Hi [Name], thanks for booking with [Company]. [Day] at [time] is no longer free, but we could do [day] at [time] or [day] at [time]. Reply with the one that works and I'll lock it in."
Quote follow-up texts
Google doesn't credit a lead where you gave a quotation and promised a call back, or a customer who never responds to your return call or message. Those charges stand whether or not the customer books, so follow up. Stopping after one try is a common reason contractor leads don't convert.
Quote follow-up, next day: "Hi [Name], [Your name] from [Company]. Just checking the quote for [job] came through OK. Any questions I can answer? If you'd like to go ahead, we can start on [day]."
Quote follow-up, a few days later: "Hi [Name], it's [Your name] at [Company]. I'm planning next week and can still fit your [job] in on [day]. Want me to hold it? If you've decided not to go ahead, a quick reply helps me plan."
For big jobs, make the second follow-up a phone call.
Review request after the job
Your rating and number of reviews both count toward your Local Services Ads ranking. Google recommends 5 or more reviews, and depending on your business type, you may need 5 for your ad to show. Send this to every customer when the job is done: Google's content policy doesn't allow incentives for reviews or selectively asking for positive ones. More in how to get more Google reviews.
Review request: "Hi [Name], thanks for choosing [Company] today. Would you take a minute to leave us an honest Google review? It helps people in [town] find a [trade] they can trust. Here's the link: [your Google review link]. Thanks, [Your name]."
